As our name suggests, we’re here to help you find the one — the gown you’ll wear as you walk down the aisle. But at the heart of our work is something even more meaningful: you. When you come to The One, our focus is entirely on creating an experience centered around the bride. In that moment, you are our only priority — the only story that matters. This is visible in:
Tucked into the heart of Charlottesville’s vibrant West Main Street shopping and dining district, The One Bridal Salon is an easy hour from Richmond, Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Waynesboro — and just two hours from the Washington, D.C. metro area. Brides travel from near and far to say yes to their dream gown here, and our dresses have walked down aisles everywhere from hometown chapels to breathtaking destination weddings across the country and beyond.
With a degree in Fashion Merchandising and nearly two decades in the wedding industry, Kelsey Lessick has built her career around two guiding beliefs: the magic of love and the joy of finding the perfect dress. For her, it has always been about more than the gown itself — it’s about the transformation, the confidence, and the unforgettable moment a bride sees herself in the dress she will wear on her wedding day.
That lifelong passion became a dream realized in October 2025, when Kelsey became the proud owner of The One Bridal Salon. When the original founder announced her retirement, Kelsey knew it was her time to carry the legacy forward — blending the salon’s trusted heritage with her own fresh perspective and heartfelt approach.
Now, as she welcomes a new generation of brides through the doors, Kelsey is more inspired than ever. Each appointment is a celebration of love, style, and individuality — and she treasures every fitting, every story, and every magical moment still to come.
As the founder of The One, Peggie’s only rule was the bride must love her dress. After a successful career in the medical profession, Peggie was searching for something that would allow her imagination, creativity and love of fashion to lead her down a new career path. Only after helping her daughter plan her dream wedding did the idea unfold: To give Charlottesville a beautiful, elegant yet welcoming bridal salon, with enough beautiful dresses that any bride can find “the one”. “It is hard to call this work,” Peggie said,” I have way too much fun”! Retiring in 2025, Peggie left The One Bridal Salon to long time colleague, Kelsey, to continue the legacy she created.
